Self Portrait

                               A PORTRAIT IN
MY Subconscious World

A tingling sensation of the motion of sea waves  still lingers in the sole of my bare feet as I fell fast asleep. Gliding through the night sky I opened the door, I was in a place of wonder, serenity and possibilities. Here I be when I strum the many quirks and puns that surrounds my cheeky subconscious right now my pumpkin instrument of soul full essence in it. Yes going back to the simple things in life with my blue pinafore .Free to be liberty and fly high with the drumroll  appearance of the Dumbo Ears.  And Ahh… the Marissa version of the ‘Narnia Lamppost ’.The light to guide me through from the lemon lamppost as it tells me that even the most sour can be sweet to light the way.Adventures awaits as the road of oblivion soars up to neverland. Definitely nature has been beautifully turn upside down am I right, tree? Reminiscent for awhile and stroll along the tilted pathway that leads to the renaissance. Buddy my golden retriever by my side , I’m at peace as I can open my eyes with a wide grin on my face . Now let me show you my world.

I fell in love with the mystical and lyrical essence that Surrealism is able to portray by non other than an artist who is fond of long curls of the mustache , Salvador Dali. His work are shocking and aggressive says Onik Sahakian. Alas ! That’s how I discovered Dali’s Disciple who opened my eyes to possibilities and brought out the secret intuition of art I never thought I had. Yes drawing that thin line between dream and reality. For this portrait,i want to apply the methods of the now digital age i live in to the making of a surrealism art.

Enigma by Onik Sahakian

Stairs going up to endless sky symbolizes each step of a person, every single kind thing done that step by step lead to cosmic eternity and quietness.

“ I DO NOT AIM AT SHOCKING PEOPLE WITH MY ART. LIFE IS CRUEL BY ITSELF, ON THE CONTRARY,ART SHOULD EMBRACE PEOPLE’S HEART WITH QUIETNESS AND HARMONY” onik sahakian
I do agree of how Onik sees the world however every now and then we must encounter danger, we must journey into the wilderness to achive our dreams because we need zest and spice in our wonderful world. But at the end of the day, everyone needs to come home where there is comfort and love to be with. Thus ,Onik's art from my opinion inspires people to search for inner peace no matter how tough situation they are in to live life as beautifully as how we all are blessed with this world.

Vision Of India

Onik’s gouache painting , masterful rendering of celestial tranquillity aspires me to interpret it in my twist in my work which is portraying of how we feel that we are in this vast sea and sky place when we escape for awhile from our urban jungle, hectic life. We can enter this dream land whenever we are in love, with families, doing our hobbies and even daydreams .However,  I took a spin on my work to send a message to everyone saying that escaping reality is the only reason to enter our subconscious world but also to learn , explore and to reflect on one's life as it makes life so much meaningful. That's my way of life.

“Riddles and signs are all over around in our dreams waiting for us to discover . Don’t just shrug it off!!” Marissa.
